What is this for?
Why are we standing on a platform?
The water movement is eroding the banks of Barden Lake.
Erosion is the wearing away of the earths surface. Erosion can be caused by rain, wind and water. In the case of Barden Lake the sides or the banks of the lake have started to wear away and people cannot stand on the sides any more. Fisher-people must use the platforms dotted around the lake and there are defenses to stop the water lapping on the banks.
